Since 2003, Dr. Hird has enjoyed caring for people of all ages providing preventive, restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry.
In addition to private practice, he maintains an Associate Staff appointment to the Department of Dentistry at Vancouver General Hospital, teaches as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Oral Health Sciences at the UBC Faculty of Dentistry, and serves as a Public Health Dentist in the Queen Charlotte Islands BC. He also sits on the Registration Committee of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC.
Dr. Hird has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from the University of British Columbia and, a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Western Ontario. He then completed a one-year hospital residency program through the UBC Faculty of Medicine. During that time, he treated elder and medically complex patients for the Vancouver Coastal Health Region and the BC Cancer Agency Department of Oral Oncology.
He continues to upgrade his training as a Founding Member of the Canadian Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Member of the Academy of General Dentistry, and Member of the BC and Canadian Dental Associations.
Dr. Hird also speaks French and Spanish.
